S.T.A.R. gives $10,000 for Amahl and the Night Visitors

S.T.A.R. Foundation of Monterey County is a major donor to the Monterey Symphony event – the opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors”.  Executive Director Reg Huston suggested the project and now it has come to fruition.

S.T.A.R. sponsors ASL interpretation at area school performances

Coverage PRESS RELEASE October 14, 2013 The S.T.A.R. Foundation of Monterey County (Support Theater Arts Regionally) will sponsor American Sign Language interpretation for deaf and hard of hearing children at area performances. This new program, funded by S.T.A.R. will help the children experience more fully theatrical events they otherwise might not attend. This follows on the heels of the visit by The Little Theatre of the Deaf, the children’s wing of the National Theatre of the Deaf this past summer, also sponsored by S.T.A.R. Foundation of Monterey County (Support The Arts Regionally) Scholarship program exists to help graduating Monterey County high school seniors pursue their interest in the performing arts beyond the secondary school setting.
